In the basement of the King's old homestead, a young Mark King lets a young Adrian King put a headlock on him, as a young Pat King instructs. Adrian is a short, skinny, 14 year old, his brother's are tall, muscular, recent high school graduates. The older brothers are both built like linebackers, broad shouldered and wide bodied.
Pat: "Ok, 'Ayj' you got your opponent in a hold, now chances are he's gonna try to shoot you off."
Pat King grabs Adrian's left leg to reposition it.
Pat: "If you plant yourself like this, he ain't gonna be able to push you away. Maintain a low center of gravity, and you'll be in control. That's what it is all about, being in control. If you're in control more often than your opponent throughout a match, my money is on you taking home on the win. Right Mark?"
Mark King gives a thumbs up and a muffled response as his head is still cradled in Adrian's arms.
Mark: "Yup."
Pat: "Ok, now I'm gonna show you how you transition your headlock into a hammerlock."
Adrian: "Ok."
Adrian's voice is small, much higher than it would eventually become. Pat grabs Adrian by the shoulders and starts to slowly guide his movement.
Pat: "This is a risky move, because it gives your opponent a small window to escape, but if you can execute it fast enough he won't have enough time to think of a counter."
Pat guides Adrian around Mark, and Adrian puts him in a hammerlock.
Pat: "See, now you're back in control. If you continuously establish new holds, your opponent is going to have trouble game planning for you."
Mark smiles and speaks with a slight groan caused by the child's weak hammerlock.
Mark: "You get good enough at it, you're gonna be able to tie them in knots. They won't know what happened."
A young Tommy King Jr. comes storming down the basement stairs, peaking his head out to his brothers.
Tommy King Jr.: "Dad just got home."
Upon hearing those words Mark shrugs Adrian off immediately.
Pat: "Adrian, go sit down over there."
As Adrian does what he is told, his two brothers grab pairs of dumbells to pretend they were working out the whole time. After not too long, Tommy King Sr's heavy footsteps can be heard coming down the stairs. His steps are slow and heavy, causing the stairs to squeak underneath him.
Tommy King Sr.: "Looking good boys."
The boys father smiles at them, as they repeatedly do bicep curls. They both nod in acknowledgment.
Tommy King Sr.: "It's time to train. Let's go hit the ropes."
Mark and Pat put the weights back down as their father begins to make his way up the stairs. Adrian shoots up off the chair he was sitting in, and rushes to the stairs.
Adrian: "Can I come too?"
Tommy King Sr. smiles and ruffles his hands through Adrian's blonde hair.
Tommy King Sr.: "You're not ready yet kid, maybe when you're a bit older."
Mark, Pat, and Tommy Jr. follow their father up the stairs, leaving Adrian standing alone in the basement.
An adult Adrian King opens his eyes, as he hears a bell ring. He laying against the canvas, in the center of the EWF ring. Dazed he glances over to see Michelle Gambella raising Anthony Royal's hand.
Tiffany Styles: "Advancing to the finals of The Old Glory Championship tournament... "The Shining Star" Anthony Royal!"
Adrian looks away and back up at the lights of the EWF Underground. He closes his eyes hard, and forces his tired body to roll out of the ring. Solemnly he walks back up the ramp and into the back without ever looking back at Anthony Royal celebrating in the ring. Once in the back he walks past Tony Martini.
Tony Martini: "Adrian, a hard fought match, but still a loss. How are you feeling?"
Adrian stops, and leans in to speak into Tony's microphone. Completely ignoring the camera behind him.
Adrian King: "It seems for every step forward I take, I get the same push back. For every victory, a loss. I'm sick of just treading water. Enough is enough. Something needs to change, and something needs to change now."
Adrian walks away from Tony Martini, and continues into the locker room. He begins to unpack his street clothes, and prepares to shower and change when he notices a notification on his cell phone. The notifications read: Pat - 8 missed calls. Pat - Voicemail. Adrian thumbs through his phone, and checks the times of the call. Every one of them came within minutes of each other, all during his match. Adrian checks the voicemail.
Pat King: "'Ayj' where are you? God dammit! Call me back. Something's happened. It's Mark. There's- there's been an accident or I don't know. Just-Just- call me as soon as you get this."
Adrian stares at his cell phone, looking at Pat's number in his phone, terrified to call him back, terrified of what news is on the other end.
The scene fades to black.

Dank Sinatra stands behind a kitchen counter inside of a state of the art culinary institution with industrial sized ovens, mixing machines and the like. Dank is sporting something that we don't usually see on the Blazed Up Superstar a chef's hat and a kitchen apron. Dank smiles and nods his head slowly up and down from side to side as his nearly shut eyes make it difficult to tell if he is sleeping on his feet or awake.
Well, all my 4:20ers got the wish they had been waiting for at the last EWF Evolution. They got to see the highest flying athlete in sports entertainment today do what he said he would do, and that was to retain the EWF World Stoner Championship. This beautiful baby right here, it ain't going anywhere if I can help it.
Dank pulls the EWF World Television Championship from behind the kitchen counter, presumably it had been resting on a chair or who knows maybe even hanging off some contraption that Dank has hidden. The title has one slight alteration, Dank has taken a piece of tape and covered the word "Television" and, in chicken scratch hand writing, written the word "STONER" in big green letters effectively christening this championship with a new name.
Now, 4:20ers we all remember when the Dank Man was the EWF 4:20 7:10 Champion and taking on all comers to the point that Slater man decided we didn't need that title anymore. Well, this baby had to be renamed by the Dankster to show all of my little and big 4:20ers what this championship is now all about. Carlito Rodriguez came out to that ring at Evolution and so did Christopher Charles and they both failed to take this title from me. The people loved it, it's almost like the Dankster is some kind of People's Champion.
Dank pauses and begins to pop his head up and down again, smiling he begins to whisper a slight "chant"
Dank Si-Na-Tra! (claps) Dank Si-Na-Tra! (claps) That's got a ring to it, alright 4:20ers we know what we have to do next time we are all together to get the Dank Man ready to go. But, anyways, that guy Carlito bruuuuh, you shouldn't have been so focused on your lovely lady at ringside because the man who is a huge fan of his lovely lady ran circles around you and as for that little bastard Christopher Charles, stop blaming other people for your own shortcomings...Jesus, I feel like I'm this kid's father right now. Whatever brosefs just know that you had your chance to take this title from me and you failed, you failed just like that dude Enforcer who said he would be the first champ, now, the Dankster has to move on to bigger and better things.
Dank looks down to the kitchen counter, noticing the brownie mix and the green slab of what appears to butter in front of him.
OK, 4:20ers, today the Dank Man is going to teach you a simple and easy way to infuse your goodies! Now this beautiful green thing right here, this is the finished product we are going to have at the end. If you're new to the edibles scene this is called "cannibutter" it's great. Like, totally brotake mushrooms, you can take this stuff and put it on your morning toast, you can cook your eggs with it, you can make cookies, brownies, cakes...hell you could just eat the butter if that's your thing. So first, we're going to need all of this trim and flower.
Dank goes underneath the counter and pulls out a large bag of marijuana, sticks and leaves from a recent harvest.
This is just a little bit, nothing major but good shit all around. Then you need butter...like a pound of it for this much Ganj. Ya know, what, this isn't gonna be free for the whole world to see. The EWF faithful who also partake on the Dankster's YouTube channel and my Instagram can get the real low down on how to make this deliciously intoxicating butter. I know why the EWF faithful tuned in to this and not just my 4:20ers...it's because they know that the Dank Man is just four title defenses away from cashing the EWF Stoner Championship in for a shot at the EWF World Championship. That's like upgrading from some dankness to the Cannibus Cup winner, that's some serious shenanigans right there. Four more title defenses and this Evolution I don't even have to outlast two other guys, this time it's just one dude. I like the odds in this one even more, not that the opponent is easier just I only have one guy gunning for me this week and that's a welcome change from double the amount of headaches. I won't have to worry about some little baby getting angry and throwing a hissy fit and clocking me with a chair for no good reason. At the next Evolution I'm going to be defending the Stoner Championship, in honor of all the 4:20ers, against the man Adrian King, the man from the great wrestling family, the man who is not having the greatest of runs at the moment. It's all good A.K. I've got a little AK-47 that may take the edge off for you my man. I know its hard living in the shadows of your family, I can dig the chip on your shoulder bruh, but in all reality I gotta say that you are in your own head. I just don't see you taking the Stoner Championship unless you can get out of your own head and realize that you just gotta blaze your own joi---I mean path my guy. I'm glad Slater decided to just give you a one on one title shot, I think you've proved yourself a little more than Christopher and Carlito so even though you're an arrogant prick I guess you earned it. So, make the best of your new found situation...let's get it on bruh! 4:20ers, check out the YouTubes and make sure you tune in to Evolution to watch the Dankster defend your championship against Adrian Prince, that's right I went there. Dankster signing out!
Dank looks down to the cannibutter and brownie mix and begins to read the instructions on the brownie mix, seems as if Dank has suddenly found himself having the munchies and wanting to get blazed at the same time.

The scenes opens up in a radio studio, where a large bearded man named Connor Shift, and his skinny clean shaven co-host, Mike Jewell are recording an episode for their weekly podcast: "Off The Top."
Connor Shift: "Hey everybody its Connor, here in the studio with my Co-host, the fabulous Mr. Jewell, and this is Off The Top. For new listeners, this is a podcast about the world of professional wrestling, in the ring, out of the ring, behind the scenes, on the road, we cover it all, and we bring it to you every week for free, wherever you get your podcasts."
Connor adjusts his leather chair, and Mike Jewell takes a sip of water.
Connor Shift: "So this week is going to be a little different, a little more serious, maybe we'll have some fun stories, but we'd be dismissive not to address the elephant in the room. The wrestling world is shocked and saddened this week by the news of the untimely passing of Big Japan Tag Team Champion, Mark King. He was found unconscious in his Kyoto hotel room late Saturday night, early Sunday morning in what has been ruled as the result of an accidental overdose. He is survived by his father, American wrestling legend Tommy King Sr. and his brothers Tommy Jr, Patrick, and Adrian. He was just 35 years old."
Mike Jewell: "This is news is just so sad. Tragic, really. My heart just goes out to his friends, his family, and his fans."
Connor Shift: "Absolutely, my heart has been with his brothers specifically, this week. I can't even imagine. Tommy King Jr. has a full schedule ahead of him, Patrick just lost his tag team partner, his co-champion."
Mike Jewell: "His best friend."
Connor sighs into the microphone.
Connor Shift: "I know, it's so sad. So sad."
Mike Jewell: "And then you've got Adrian, whose got a big match coming up this week in EWF, for their television title. I can't imagine his mindset going into that."
Connor Shift: "I agree, especially for someone like Adrian, who as of late has been struggling a bit, not just in the ring, but seemingly mentally."
Mike Jewell: "Yeah it's been apparent he's been on edge. Any possibility he takes the week off, tries to push the title match back a week?"
Connor Shift: I know what I would do. But knowing what I know about Adrian, and it's honestly not much. There's no way in hell he backs down."
The shot fades to black, and cuts to a shot of Adrian King driving his truck up the long dirt driveway that leads to his families home. He's wearing a black button up shirt, and black slacks. The expression on his face is stone-like, solemn, and serious. He rolls over the humps in the uneven driveway looking off towards the house with an unwavering mood. He parks behind a long lineup of cars from visiting guests, fellow mourners and friends. Adrian gets out of the truck, and sees his brother Pat standing on the small front porch drinking a beer, with 6 empty bottles lined up at his feet. He sees Adrian and smiles softly.
Pat King: "Ayj."
Pat approaches Adrian, and hugs him, the beer still in his hand.
Adrian King: "How you holding up?"
Pat King: "I'm doing ok, I'm ok."
When Pat speaks Adrian is met with wafts of alcohol, but Adrian doesn't say anything about it. Instead, he just looks towards the windows of the house, trying to recognize any of the figures moving around in the house.
Adrian King: "Who's here?"
Pat King: "So many people. A lot of dad's old friends, Mr. USA, The Grand Samu, Bobby Windell, a lot of old timers up in that house right now.
Adrian speaks under his breath.
Adrian King: "Oh, great."
Pat King: "I know, not quite Mark's style, is it?"
Pat takes another swig of beer, finishing the bottle. He throws it off into the nearby woods, it shatters against a tree or a rock.
Adrian King: "Nah, but that is."
Adrian and Pat laugh together, before their faces return to a serious expression. Tommy King Jr. comes out the front door with a big smile on his face.
TKJ: : "Adrian, you're here. Aren't you gonna come in and say hi to everyone?"
Adrian King: "Yeah, in a minute."
Tommy continues outside, and joins his brothers in the front lawn.
TKJ: "So, big match this week, huh?"
Pat opens up another beer.
Adrian King: "I don't want to talk about that right now, Tommy. I'm not even sure if I should get back in the ring just yet."
Pat spits out the swig of beer he just took.
Pat King: "Ah bullshit."
Adrian King: "What?"
Pat yells at the top of his lungs this time.
Pat King: "I SAID THAT'S BULLSHIT."
Adrian King: "I just figured, with all this stuff, I should take some time."
Pat King: "Mark's dead Adrian. That is a fact and nothing is going to change that. You have the luxury of taking some time. You've got time. Mark doesn't have any time left."
Tommy tries to intervene, putting his hand on Pat's shoulder.
TKJ: "Just calm down, Pat."
Pat King: "No, fuck off Tom. Listen to me Adrian, I know things haven't been going as you've planned. I've been watching, hell I've been rooting for you. I think you've forgotten who you are. You are Adrian FUCKING King. You have something in you that neither Mark or myself had. You wanna know why we decided to tag up? Because we knew that if one of us was fucking up, we could count on the other to bail us out. You've never needed anyone to bail you out. You have inside of you, an intangible, a fighting spirit, that most people in this industry could only dream of having. Tommy included."
TKJ: "Hey, hey, come on."
Pat King: "Fuck off Tom, it's true and we both know it. You have a gift that Mark never had, and you're just going to squander it by 'taking some time,' that's bullshit. Mark is never going to wrestle another match again, but you know what, I bet he'd probably give anything for just one more. I know I would. I would kill to walk that aisle with him again, to see him in my corner, to know he has my back. Adrian, you don't just have to remember who you are, you have to show the people who Adrian King is. So for myself, and for Mark, don't waste time. Go in there Saturday night, and you take that Television Championship."
The three brothers are silent for a moment. Adrian nods slowly.
Adrian King: "I'll do it for Mark."
Pat smiles, and pounds his beer until it's empty.
Pat King: "You bet your ass you will, and I'll be with you when you do."
END SCENE.
